Sullivan Bay, The Broughtons, B.C.
(Read the LogBlog entries from Sullivan Bay)

Since they arrived in the floating town of Sullivan Bay in 1969, owners Lynn and Pat Finnerty have raised two seals, and one child. They have lived through two tsunami warnings, one fire and many more adventures. If you are around long enough you will probably bump into Pat who can give you the history, or catch Lynn and Trish in the store to fill in where Pat left off. You will find all the staff helpful and eager to tell some tall tales of their own.

Sullivan Bay is legendary among cruising boaters. It has ample moorage for even the largest vessels.

Things to See & Do

Go Fishing
Hosts Pat and Lynn are warm and helpful. They can share maps and tips on the local fishing spots.

Golf?
Catch the "Sullivan Bay Open" and see all the great boating golfers teeing off at the one-hole water golf course (old golf balls are much appreciated).

Take a Walk
Go "downtown" and check out the painted propane tanks, dock signs such as Main Street and Fish Alley or the largest of catch of the day painted on the dock. The flowers will give you that shot of color to replace the green, gray and blue of the hillsides and sky. Gardeners suffering from withdrawal are encouraged to pinch off a couple of dead flowers or pluck a few of those nasty weeds that sneak up in a hot summer.

Local Color
Pat Finnerty came to Sullivan Bay in 1969 and can tell you all about the history of the floating city. The old buildings date back to the 1940s and were brought to Sullivan Bay from other locations. There are all sorts of whimsical signs and paintings to be found around the town of Sullivan Bay.
