Klewnuggit Inlet, B.C.
(Read the LogBlog entry from Klewnuggit Inlet)
This is a very beautiful anchorage, isolated and secure, a fair way in from Grenville Channel. Klewnuggit Inlet Marine Park includes East Inlet, Brodie Lake, Freda Lake and the surrounding land. It is well worth the effort to visit this area, for the scenery is magnificent.
Things to See & Do
Bishop Bay Hot Springs
A worthwhile side trip on the way from Khutze Inlet to Klewnuggit, Bishop Bay is located just off Ursula Channel and is accessible by boat or float plane. A short trail from the dock leads to a covered wilderness hot springs pool, roofed picnic area, raised tenting platforms and toilets. This can be a very busy anchorage and boaters may not find a suitable anchorage or mooring space at times.
Anchorage Info
When turning into the wide entrance of the inlet give a safe clearance to Morning Reef, marked by a light. A partially drying, submerged reef runs between Evening Point and the light. Do not turn until the inlet is well abeam and a route into the center of the inlet can be taken.
A deep anchorage lies between Harriot Island and the long peninsula which projects southward into the inlet. For small boats, better anchorage is around the peninsula in the northwestern inner bay of East Inlet.
